                  February 4, 2006 - New Musician & Music
 Howdy folks,

Our beloved Monolab family has grown a little again. Sounds like
the intro to new GZSZ cast members. :)

Anyway, with Doc ../distortion, a musician from the old Tracker
days is joining us. Now known through radio and television, he
seems to be on a "back to his roots" trip, and his first release
shows that he fits in well with the Monolab community.

Release 67 - Dynamite Bitch is a fat house track not just for
bitches. It's coming along well and is a must-download.

So then, welcome Doc D. and off to the download, folks...

 News
January 4, 2006 - Back in the country
 Howdy folks,

After endless months of silence from Monolab, there's finally
something for your ears again. Schranz and heavy trance should
                test your speakers quite well.

Release 65 - Dynamic is a fairly monotonous Schranz track where
bass and beats count. Already tested in the car and approved.
Release 66 - Music from Beyond was once a gentle trance project,
but after it hit the Schranz mixer, you probably won't notice it
                anymore.

For technical reasons, only the MP3s are available at the
moment. Apart from the fact that the trance track requires a lot
of system resources and doesn't sound authentic on the current
Renoise tracker, I want to conserve my traffic a bit. Over 20 MB
of Renoise data, using just two loops, is pretty heavy. The
sound and tone are getting better, but unfortunately, so are the
                bytes.

I don't want to say much about myself personally, as the
releases seem to speak a clearly positive language. Currently,
all my stats are bright green, and I'm back to full life. If
anyone, or a large number of people, wants to download the
original Renoise 1.27 tracks, I'd like to optimize them and put
them online. In that case, there's no way to know how many of
you actually download the Renoise tracks.

If so, please email me and we'll see
what happens. So, friends of the night, this is just the
                beginning.

                18, 2005 - Silence around Monolab
 Howdy folks,

Our loyal fans must have been wondering for some time why
nothing has happened at Monolab in recent months. First of
all, I'm only posting this information on this page, as I
believe it's only for the regulars and really isn't news
that's posted online. I may be wrong, but that's how I see it.

The story begins around the turn of the year. Lee'o's mixes
and various tracks of my own were still planned. The only
problem was that my physical condition deteriorated
significantly in January. Constant fatigue, I was usually
exhausted in the evenings, and this resulted in a complete
lack of motivation. To be honest, I was glad that I was still
able to manage my job halfway.

The next weeks and months saw a severe viral infection,
various flus, and other illnesses along those lines. I simply
attributed it to the constant stress and massive overtime at
work. In mid-March, I was proven wrong when I noticed a
hardening in my body. The diagnosis and confirmation in the
hospital, which then overwhelmed me, was, as most people
probably correctly assume, that I had cancer.

I was immediately admitted to the hospital and had surgery the
very next day. This was in addition to countless tests, CT
scans, and other examinations that are inevitable in such
cases. The week spent waiting for the tissue sample results
isn't particularly pleasant or enjoyable. However, when the
result is extremely positive, as in my case, it literally
takes a million pounds off your shoulders.

The reason I waited so long to share this news is somewhat
obvious. I didn't want to post anything here until I knew what
was going to happen next. So, simply put, don't get the horses
excited unnecessarily. After receiving the final report a few
days ago, where nothing more was found in my body and all my
values were perfectly green, I decided the time had come.

Please forgive my silence and being left out in the cold, but
believe me, the last few weeks have not been very pleasant and
                  incredibly stressful.

In the next few days, I'll only have radiation therapy,
although I'm referring to the extent of my remaining
treatment, and possibly a rehabilitation program. After that,
I should be back to full life and find time for my favorite
hobby. Certainly, my risk of developing cancer again has
increased considerably, but I can also live to be 100. What
doesn't kill me only makes me stronger.

I can only recommend everyone to examine themselves regularly
and also take advantage of preventative screenings. If I
hadn't discovered it myself so early, including my
preventative screenings, this story would have turned out much
more negatively for me. Three to six months later, and it
could well have been someone else writing this for me and
                  adding "RIP" at the end.

But always think positive. I estimate I should be back on top
by the end of June or mid-July. I still have several tracks in
stock, and the promised mixes are still waiting. This time, it
definitely won't take half a year.

Thanks for reading, and see you soon.
 Yours, Cosmic.

 | News December 30, 2004 - Release & Miscellaneous

 Howdy folks, The
weeks have passed again, and a lot has happened internally
at Monolab. Let's start with the new release.

 Release
64 - Cumshot is a fat disco house track by Burt Freedom. The
finest disco stuff with a heavy bassline and guaranteed
                    repeat performances.

 In
addition to the music, we've also found what we were looking
for in terms of web space and a new home. We're therefore
more than well-prepared for next year. Thanks to the new web
space, we finally have the opportunity to bring the fat
Monolab megamixes by Lee'o / Psimax to the public. Three
mixes are waiting for you and will also be available as a
special release in the next few days. There will also be a
new house release from Cosmic called Schlittenfahrt. Look
                    forward to it.

 So,
things are continuing in 2005, and with that in mind, we
wish you a Happy New Year.

 News
                    10/10/2004 - Double Release

 Even
though you might think things are getting pretty quiet
around Monolab, we want to bring some fresh beats to your
home sound system with today's two releases.

 Release
62 - The Little Man and the Sea by Myrone is the finest
                    electronic-style music.

 Release
63 - Custom Physics is a small premiere, as it's the first
DNB-inspired track on Monolab. A premiere of sorts, anyway,
as it's the debut track from our new musician, Loolarge.

 At
this point, a big welcome to Loolarge, may the sounds always
                    be with you. :)

 The
extremely long break between releases is partly due to my
apartment move (various technical problems), partly due to a
pinched nerve in my back, and finally, some serious stress
at work. At the moment, I'm still having the problem that I
can't track "interference-free" without starting a petty war
with my new neighbors. :) It's all a matter of insulation
                    and the necessary time.

 But
time will tell, and today we have two massively awesome
tracks waiting for you. Let's get started.

 Regards,
Cosmic at Monolab Recording Studios :)
