Happy
New Year,
and welcome to the new Monolab website.
Unfortunately, the restructuring took far more
time than I had initially planned. The original
plan was to transfer the website to WordPress and
breathe new life into the story. Unfortunately, I
didn't really warm to WordPress; it was somehow
too sterile and too generic. Then I considered
Zeta Producer as an alternative, but it didn't
work for me. I was almost ready to abandon the
Monolab.de Reloaded project until I came across
Blue Griffon.
Blue Griffon is a relatively old WYSIWYG web
editor that I surprisingly quickly warmed to, and
the combination of Notepad/Notepad and the web
editor revived the project. Since I haven't worked
with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript for years, this
story was 100% a learning process. So what you're
seeing right now is pure HTML with CSS and minimal
JavaScript support. All graphics, logos, and
similar elements are generated with or through AI
and are essentially exclusive to Monolab. A small
portion of the site was created with the help of
ChatGPT4, and in a truly amazing way, the AI was
always on hand to offer advice and support. What
you used to search for on Google, you can now
discuss with the AI.
While we're on the subject of AI, I can tell you
about my new passion. As you can already see on
the news/main page, Monolab has new content with
AI Music and AI Videos. In addition to the
handmade music, the well-known Monolab releases,
my AI experiments are also available for download.
Since the new releases, AI & handmade, also
land on YouTube, there are of course also music
videos for the respective AI releases. Some are
elaborate, others are relatively simple. Just take
a look at the AI Projects section. Suno is used
100% for the music, and various other sources
(including Lenonardo.AI and Wan) are used for the
videos.
The respective music videos for the handmade music
are more extensive and usually not simple static
play images for YouTube. I will definitely try to
maintain this system, even if it means a slight
delay in the release of a track. I may also be
able to release the different formats at different
times. Here, too, it's a case of learning by
doing. :-)
To
conclude the topic, I'd like to mention the image
gallery. Although AI often works with long and
detailed prompts, it may take several attempts until
the graphic or logo matches your expectations. This
naturally generates countless images that are never
used again. You can find a small, fine selection of
these images in the gallery. |
I'm
not 100% sure at the moment whether I'll also offer
the videos for download or just use the embedded
YouTube player, but to be well prepared for the
future, I've also switched to a new provider. More
storage, no traffic limit, and more options. Every now
and then, you just need a change of scenery – the
Monolab domain is currently hosted with DF – it may
move later.
I currently have several music projects in the
pipeline, including two new melodic techno tracks, and
with the new Monolab.de website, I wanted to get
started again in this area. There's also the YouTube
channel with the corresponding music videos. I really
hope my health cooperates and all the work I've done
recently hasn't been in vain.
Here's my current to-do
list:
1. Synthwave (Depeche Mode-like) AI album - with
melodic techno and modern influences. Theoretically,
I have enough material for a 10-12 track album.
2. Hybrid - D&B / Hip Hop hybrid music -
sometimes a hardcore drum and bass sound mixed with
Detroit-style rap.
3. Chasing for a Better Life - 6-7 track vocal house
remix album (basically like Feel the Light)
4. Handmade melodic
techno tracks like you already know from
"Perspektive". Plus a back2oldschool hard house
track
Another story. Some time ago, I rediscovered my
long-lost record collection, or at least what was left
of it. Unfortunately, I no longer had a record player,
and my trusty Technics somehow disappeared during a
move. I've kept checking current record player offers,
but even today, usable devices have their price, and
the cheap ones can be safely dismissed as Chinese
junk. But luck was on my side when it came to record
players. My SL-D3 ended up with my dad when we moved.
I'd forgotten it; the needle and cartridge were
broken, and he assumed I didn't need it anymore and
repaired it, only to store it in a box in the basement
for 15 years not long after. Long story short: My
"treasure" is back in my hands, with a new needle and
cartridge.
Unfortunately, I had sold a relatively large portion
of my record collection back then, just in case you
need some money. I still have a few 80s acid and house
records, but I had practically sold off treasures like
Acieed Inferno 1+2 and Jolly Roger's Acid Man. In a
way, I bought back part of my youth. The two Infernos
and Jolly are back in my possession, and I've now
added a few more rare acid records. If you want to get
rid of any acid or house records, up to the late 90s
at the most, but preferably 80s, > I'll take
anything for free :-). Otherwise, send the record
title and asking price to my email address.
So, friends. Have fun with the new website and the
tons of new content! Cheers > Matthias aka
Cossi!
